We know that children learn through play. We know that play is essential to children's well-being. And yet, the lives of many children in our care are so busy, so jam packed with programs, routines, extra-curricular activities, and expectations, that they simply do not have enough time to play.
As early childhood educators, we have an opportunity to slow down children's days. In response to the recent, heightened interest in 'Slow Pedagogy', we developed a workshop exploring key elements within slow pedagogy, including the impact of flexible and responsive routines on children's play and their sense of well-being, and the importance of long, uninterrupted blocks of time for play.
This workshop was recorded, and based on feedback we developed a package combining that recording with a collection of relevant resources, plus the opportunity to unpack the practicalities of implementing 'Slow Pedagogy' in your service with one of our experienced consultants.
