Why did we create these posters?
Preparing to start school is a big moment in a child's life. We have long been advocates for focusing on the transition to school, rather than on "readiness", and over the years, many educators have told us that one of the trickiest parts is explaining to families how a play based program is supporting children in that transition, and how structured academics is not what children need to thrive.
We created these posters to share some key elements of a positive school transition and to highlight how play and connection can support children as they prepare for this new chapter of life. Displaying them for families, or using them to link to practice, is a great way to advocate for children's right to play, and to help families to feel confident in your program and approach to supporting their child in the transition to school.

Each poster contains an explainer paragraph, why it is important for children, and some practical ways that we can support children as they practice. The posters are complimentary of our positive school transitions cards and provide another medium for exploring this information.
What can you do with them?
Display the posters in your entry, or in a room or near the front door. You could also display them in your staff room for your team to use when programming and documenting learning.
You can display the posters as is, laminate them for extra protection, or frame them

Your posters are printed in-house using a commercial-grade printer on high-quality A3 Poster Paper.
How is it sustainable?

- Recycled/Reusable/Sustainable packaging where possible. Posters are typically shipped in tubes (which are a great addition to your loose parts play!)
