Our 2027 Reflective Journals draw on over 20 years in the Early Childhood sector, as educators, educational leaders, nominated supervisors and approved providers.
Since we began developing these journals in 2014, we have been evolving the contents and layout of our reflective journals in response to changes within the sector, educator feedback, and our own current experiences.
You also now have the option to personalise your Reflective Journal cover, with your name, or with your service/company branding! If you choose to personalise your journal(s), you will receive an email requesting details and/or company logo.

Our goal has always been to provide a tool that is more than just a diary, which is why all of our journals offer the space for you to not only stay on track with programming and observations, but also to; demonstrate your engagement with the EYLF through reflective prompts and challenges, support your wellbeing, record your professional development and advocacy, and develop an amazing piece of evidence for assessment and rating!
Inside your journal you will find:
- Monthly overview pages with monthly calendars and suggested significant dates to help you plan ahead,
- Weekly planning spreads providing weekly calendars and dedicated sections for daily notes, reflective prompts and task lists,

Reflective prompts encouraging critical thinking about your practice. Topics include: Pedagogy Prompts, Reflecting on Your Wellbeing, Keeping Children Safe, and I am a Leader Previously these were at the beginning or end of the month - this year, we have woven them throughout the month, supporting you to slow down and embed your reflections in everyday practice.
- Reference pages featuring the EYLF V2.0 outcomes, National Quality Standards, and popular thinkers and theorists to support you in your documentation,
- Professional learning record and notetaking space, including space for goal setting, reading lists, and recording advocacy,
- Embedding First Nations Culture page each month will support you to reflect on how you are meaningfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives through key elements of your practice,
- Monthly programming review enabling you to keep your team on track

Which Reflective Journal should I buy?
- The Educator Reflective Journal is designed for educators in centre-based care (e.g. long day care, preschool, kindergarten).
- The Educational Leader Reflective Journal is designed for Educational Leaders in all service types.
- The Nominated Supervisor Reflective Journal is designed for Nominated Supervisors, Directors or Centre Managers in centre based care.
- The NS/EL Combined Reflective Journal is designed for those who hold a dual role of Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader in a smaller service (we recommend this for services with 5 staff or less)
- The Team Reflective Journal is designed for teams to use together in early childhood services - this might be in one room or in a small service, such as a preschool/kindergarten.
- The FDC Educator Reflective Journal is designed for Family Day Care Educators.
- The FDC Coordinator Reflective Journal is designed for Mentors/Coordinators in Family Day Care
- The OSHC Service Reflective Journal is designed for teams to use together in OSHC Services.
We have provided a few sample pages for each journal type so that you can see the style and layout of the journals. If you are still unsure of which journal will best suit your needs, we encourage you to reach out to our team, who will be able to discuss this with you!
Our Reflective Journals are fully designed, printed, bound, and packaged in our Lake Macquarie office using locally sourced supplies. We receive thousands of orders each year, and as you can imagine, printing, binding and packing each of these orders in-house is a HUGE task. Pre-ordering early helps us get your journal to you fast!
For orders to be received before the end of 2027, we recommend ordering before 30th November 2026.
Product Details
- Our Reflective Journals are printed in a combination of colour and black and white, using A4, quality (recyclable) paper.
- Each Journal has a thick, glossy front cover - (featuring art submitted as part of our 2027 Reflective Journal Cover Art competition) with additional clear front cover for strength and durability, and thick, black card for the back cover.
- Our Reflective Journals feature a durable spiral binding and custom ribbon bookmark.
We pride ourselves on making sustainable choices. This is always a work in progress though and we are open to suggestions.
Here's how we are making our journals more sustainable:
- Printed to order: By printing, binding and packing our Journals to order, we can reduce waste. We generally commence printing pre-orders as early as September to meet our release dates to start shipping in October!
- Packed in "ugly boxes": We endeavour to pack and post all of our orders in environmentally friendly packaging, including compostable satchels, and recycled "ugly" cardboard boxes for large orders.
- Supporting Reforestation: We offset our printing via Print Releaf - you can view how many trees we have replanted HERE
Shipping:
Shipping prices are calculated automatically through a courier integration - sometimes it goes a little rogue and the shipping seems a lot (although, shipping costs have certainly increased!)
